We visited London in April 2018 after researching average temperatures to make sure we weren't;t there when it was too cold and rainy. We failed. It was unusually cold for April and very damp. Oh well, we had a wonderful time anyway!
The city is chock full of amazing and beautiful sights to see. Among our favorites were Buckingham Palace, Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. If you visit London, consider getting The London Pass is a single pass that gets you into most of the major sights of London. We found it to be a great value. However, make sure that you make reservations for the sights that accept them as the pass get you in expedited lines at some attraction, but not at others. For example, we tried to visit Churchill's War Rooms on three different occasions and never got it due to crowd limitations. This was because people who made reservations online with that specific site had priority entry. So plan your visit accordingly.
The food and people of London were absolutely wonderful. Everyone we met was gracious and eager to help. We encountered some trouble when stopping for something to eat at a local pub because we didn't realize that even if you sit at a table in the pub that you still need to order your drinks and food at the bar. There is no wait staff to come to your tableland take your order. Other than that, navigating the city was pretty easy. The food that we ate was delicious! We ate at one particular restaurant near our hotel in Hyde Park that was fantastic. Our entire meal at the Black & Blue Steakhouse was incredible!
We enjoyed London very much and plan on returning when the weather isn't so cold (so in mid-July).
